My name is Nathan Maher, and I love taking photos.
The long and short of it is, since a young age I have enjoyed taking photos and in the year 2022 I finally bought myself a DSLR camera. Not long after that purchase I began taking on work as a photographer, particularly loving weddings and special occasions!
From the years 2022-2026 I completed two courses, one being a year long course in TV and Film Production, and the second being a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies. These years were invaluable to my growth as a creative, and more detail regarding these projects can be found in my blog.
Mission
To be honest, saying "mission" sounds a bit dramatic considering what I am about to say but if needs must we'll drop a line or two.
I love taking photos because I am an extremely sentimental person, always have been. I always found music and photographs to be incredible ways of stepping back into a moment, even if years have gone by. Since there's already a Nathan Maher who does music I thought I'd settle for photography.
Jokes aside, photographs are a great way of preserving memories, in 2018 in second year of secondary school I began keeping a physical photo album where I would print favourite photos from my camera roll. This photo album shows high, lows, inside jokes and doodles drawn in Leaving Cert French. Every photo has details noted such as those I was with, where it was taken, time of day/date, etc. Anything to paint a picture of what that day and moment was like
My love for photography stems from the want to give other people the opportunity to look back on their big, or maybe even small days.
